Bishnu Majhi is a very renowned name in the Nepali musical industry as she is one very famous folk singer of Nepal. A decades ago, she debuted in folk songs and even these days, she has been continuously singing songs. But while getting concerned about her personal life, everyone is raising a question against her husband Sundar Mani Adhikari. According to poet and artist and Bishnu’s neighbor Badal Ghimire, Bishnu has been imprisoned by her own husband. It was him who brought her to Kathmandu and made her a singer but now after Bishnu succeeded, Badal acclaimed that she is living a very terrible and hard life due to her husband’s narrowness in his thoughts and his negativity towards artistic world. According to Badal, Bishnu Majhi is all under control of Sunar Mani Adhikari therefore she isn’t even close to any of her colleagues, she doesn’t go abroad for programs and she isn’t seen anywhere in public programs. Badal Ghimire released a press statement where the situation of Bishnu was clarified and Sundar Mani was acclaimed for Bishnu’s silence. ‘Bishnu Majhi is violenced by Sundar Mani though he married her’ said Badal Ghimire. Even before three years, Badal had talked to press regarding Bishnu Majhi’s personal life but he was threatened by some unknown sources. ‘Some unknown callers threatened me saying they will murder me’ said Badal. But Badal again spoke up after three years taking the risk of his own life. Bishnu Majhi and Badal Ghimire were brought up from the similar place ‘Syanja’. Ten years before, Sundar Mani had taken Bishnu Majhi from Syanja showing her a dream of making singer. Bishnu’s dream came true but the presence of Sundar Mani in her real life made her life a nightmare. Badal has requested the medias to speak up for the right of Bishnu and he even told the investigation has to be done regarding Bishnu Majhi and Sundar Mani Adhikari. According to Bishnu’s near ones, Bishnu isn’t even allowed to carry a mobile phone and her life is decided by Sundar Mani
